Privacy notice.
This explains what happens to your details when you join the Tandem waitlist at tandemsocials.com. It covers the waitlist only. The Tandem app will have its own privacy policy when it opens.
Who we are
Tandem Socials (“we”) runs this website and the waitlist, and decides how your details are used. Questions, or anything to do with your data: info@tandemsocials.com.
What we collect
- Your email address.
- Your confirmation that you’re 18 or over.
- When you joined and when you confirmed, and which version of this notice you agreed to.
- Where you came from, if the link you used carried a tag, such as a code on a poster. We read this from the web address, not from a cookie.
- If you choose to answer: the activities you’d play (including anything you type under “Other”), your area (a London borough, the first half of a postcode, or a town, never a full postcode), and whether you’d like to test the app on iPhone or Android.
We don’t collect your name, your exact location, or your IP address. To stop mass sign-ups, we keep a scrambled, one-way code made from your network address for no more than 24 hours. It can’t be turned back into the address.
Why we use it
- To email you about Tandem’s launch: the link to confirm your place, and the email when it opens.
- To invite you to test the app, if you said you’d like to.
- To decide where and with which activities to launch first. We look at totals for this, not at individuals.
We don’t sell your details, share them for advertising, or use them for anything else.
Our legal basis
Your consent, given when you join and confirm. You can withdraw it at any time with the unsubscribe link in any email, or by emailing us, and we’ll delete your details.
Who stores it for us
Two companies process your details on our behalf and only on our instructions: Cloudflare, which hosts this website and its database, and Resend, which sends our emails. Both may process data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where they do, the transfer is covered by the safeguards UK data protection law requires.
How long we keep it
Until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, and never for more than 24 months after you join. If you don’t confirm your place, your details are deleted after 7 days. These deletions run automatically.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), you can ask for a copy of your details, ask us to correct or delete them, withdraw your consent, or object to how we use them. Email info@tandemsocials.com and we’ll respond within one month. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your details, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
Under-18s
Tandem is for adults only. If you think someone under 18 has joined, tell us and we’ll delete their details.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies and uses no analytics or tracking.
Changes
If this notice changes, we’ll update this page and the date below. If a change affects how we use details you’ve already given us, we’ll email you first.
